Planetary Massage & Bodywork – General Laboratory
Planetary Massage and Bodywork is a blending of common strategies; both repetitive and continuous long strokes, passive movement and an emphasis on breath, permission to spontaneously move for both givers and receivers. This technique provides a tremendous amount of permission to break out of old habitual patterns and assumptions.
It is a chance to get support for evolution in your practice, through your own body experience. Ultimately, that will lead the practitioner in becoming ever more comfortable in his own body, when working at the massage table.
We will work with the three-dimensional structure of the body in the side position. Which is allowing everybody to get comfortable receiving a session.
We will be starting with the basics, the ABC’s of touch, which are the most important parts of whatever else you may do as a touching professional.
If the professional working practitioner wants to take a quantum leap beyond what their massage looks today, if the beginner wants to come with an open mind to meet themselves in a new way, this is the place to be.
Planetary Massage & The Spine Of The Mountain
Deeper Down-Further In
For many practitioners, the palpatory skills, which are needed when approaching the spine, remain an enigma. To palpate means to examine by touch and often with the intention to analyze function. In this course, participants will be invited and guided into how to use palpation within their massage and increase their efficacy. The skills of palpation will improve treatments, especially as the massage client may often report discomfort in one or several regions along the spine.
We will define the anatomical structures; vertebra, muscles, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels and nerves. Getting clearer about your own unique organism in this realm is also essential as it provides a familiar reference that you carry with you into every encounter. This increases the ability to confidently move ever deeper into the core of body and being, where this intimate familiarity is essential. We will practice a complete physical examination and analyzes of the spine in the context of a massage. We will also look at the deeper underlying causal factors in the relationship of the spinal nerve innervation to the internal organs.
The way different organs function such as the heart, lungs, glands or bowel may also effect the spine in its form and flexion. We will study what are the reasonable ranges of motion within the spine, using stretches and various positions on the massage table to explore. Both givers and receivers can benefit from the practical exercises. The course is organized for practitioners at any level of experience with touch and who are being inspired to learn and explore the body in its physiological function through massage.
Planetary Massage and the Wheels of Light
Chakras can be perceived through massage as centers of energy and consciousness in the body. In the Vedic scriptures, the Upanishads, (ca.500v.Chr.) instructions are given to activate them as a means to support an individual’s spiritual evolution.
In the unique environment we will create together, we will explore with touch the seven main chakras and strategies to support and strengthen them. We will specifically delve into the bodies anatomy in an inquiry process of the spinal nerves, associated glands/organs, nerve plexus and how they relate to these energy centers. Approaching these aspects of the energy body is done in a sacred and respectful manner, adding an element of ritual, mystical and magical to your massage work. With clear intention you can turn up the volume “amperage” to reflect and project the spiritual body.
We will learn about chakras as classic archetypes that have stood the test of time. They are associated with various specific regions of the body and understanding the psychological/emotional typology and physical topography of “the wheels of light” will be an adjunct to any practitioner’s toolbox.
This course is open to all who want to work with subtle energies and at the same time physically touch, to deepen their massage skills, grow and evolve personally and increase their knowledge of the chakras. This style of bodywork increases the awareness of both, givers and receivers in every encounter. This is an opportunity to learn through touch to release creativity, make healthy choices, experience bliss, love and vitality.
